AJ Foyt Racing Partners for Freedom 250 in Washington, D.C.
AJ Foyt Racing, Homes For Our Troops, and the White House Historical Association have formed a partnership for the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, scheduled for August 22-23 in Washington, D.C. This event marks the inaugural IndyCar Series race through the nation's capital, coinciding with the celebration of America's 250th anniversary.
The collaboration aims to merge motorsports with national history and veteran support through various public programs and commemorative merchandise. The initiative was inspired by discussions between WHHA President Stewart McLaurin and board member Nicole Sexton, honoring Sexton's mother, a former AJ Foyt Racing sponsor.
The #14 Homes For Our Troops Chevrolet, driven by Santino Ferrucci, will showcase the WHHA logo during the race weekend. Additionally, a special episode of The White House 1600 Sessions podcast will feature McLaurin, Foyt, and Ferrucci. The race weekend will include public events centered around The People’s House: A White House Experience, an interactive educational venue.
