AJ Styles Defends Son Against Criticism Over GCW Show Involvement
AJ Styles, a WWE Hall of Famer, has addressed allegations regarding his son Avery Styles' lack of assistance at a recent GCW event in Minneapolis.
Avery Styles, who is starting his wrestling career, has participated in various independent wrestling events, including those organized by GCW. The controversy arose after independent wrestler Arik Cannon criticized Avery for not helping behind the scenes, following positive comments from Nattie about Avery's performance.
In defense of his son, AJ Styles clarified that Avery was contracted to wrestle, not to assist with setup or takedown duties. He criticized Cannon's remarks, suggesting that they stemmed from jealousy. Cannon later stated that he believes Avery should earn respect on his own merits. WWE NXT star Lexis King also supported Avery, arguing that he should be guided by promoters rather than criticized publicly.
