A'ja Wilson Wins 2026 WNBA MVP, First Player with Five Honors
A'ja Wilson has been awarded the 2026 WNBA MVP, making history as the first player to earn this honor five times and the first to win it in three consecutive seasons. The Las Vegas Aces star, who recently turned 30, is being recognized as one of the greatest players in WNBA history.
Wilson secured 65 out of 74 first-place votes, surpassing Minnesota Lynx rookie Olivia Miles, who received six votes, while Indiana Fever players Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark received two and one votes, respectively. This season, Wilson averaged 26.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.9 blocks, achieving shooting splits of 52.7% from the field, 40.4% from three-point range, and 86.4% from the free-throw line.
In addition to her scoring title, Wilson is also a contender for the Defensive Player of the Year award and led the league in blocks for the fifth consecutive season. The Aces finished the regular season with a 31-13 record and are currently competing in the playoffs, having advanced past the first round against the Indiana Fever.
