Ajinkya Rahane Advocates Patience for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Ajinkya Rahane, a former Indian cricketer, has called for patience regarding the young opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, stressing that it is premature to make predictions about his future in Test cricket. Rahane pointed out that the pressures of the Indian Premier League (IPL) differ significantly from those in international cricket.
Sooryavanshi, who is just 15 years old, had a challenging start to his international career, struggling during his debut tour in England. However, he rebounded impressively in the T20I series against Zimbabwe, where he was named Player of the Series after scoring 151 runs at an average of 50.33.
Rahane noted that the expectations placed on Sooryavanshi are high, but he should be allowed to develop his skills without undue pressure. He highlighted the contrasting nature of chasing runs in the IPL compared to international matches, advocating for a focus on the young player's growth.
