Ajinkya Rahane Reflects on His Journey as India's 12th Man

Ajinkya Rahane, a former Indian cricketer, has shared insights into the challenging period he experienced before his Test debut. He spent two years as the 12th man for the Indian team, waiting for his opportunity while traveling with the squad.

Rahane made his international debut in limited-overs cricket in 2011 but had to wait for 20 Test matches before he was selected to play in the longest format. During this time, he focused on learning from his teammates and improving his skills rather than feeling discouraged.

He acknowledged that patience was not a natural trait for him initially but developed over time through experience. Rahane recently announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, having scored 5,077 runs in 85 Tests and 2,962 runs in 90 ODIs.
