Al Nassr Sets New Record for Longest Scoring Streak in Soccer History
Al Nassr achieved a historic milestone on Saturday by breaking an 87-year-old record for the longest consecutive scoring streak in top-flight league soccer. This achievement occurred during a 1-1 draw against Al Khaleej, where substitute Abdullah Al-Hamdan scored a remarkable goal from outside the box in the second half.
The goal not only secured a point for Al Nassr but also extended their scoring streak to 94 consecutive matches in the Saudi Pro League, surpassing the previous record of 93 matches held by River Plate since the 1930s. Al Nassr's scoring streak began on December 8, 2023, following a match against Al Riyadh.
This draw was Al Nassr's last domestic match before they begin their AFC Champions League Elite campaign against Al Ain on September 16. The club aims to build on their recent success as they face top continental teams, having previously competed in a lower tier of the AFC Champions League.
