Alabama Dismisses Defensive Back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. Following Second Arrest
Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., a defensive back for Alabama, has been dismissed from the football program following his second arrest last week. The decision was announced by coach Kalen DeBoer.
Kirkpatrick was arrested on Friday for allegedly threatening a police officer who had previously arrested him. Reports indicate he sent threatening messages and posted a picture of the officer and his family on social media. He faces misdemeanor charges of doxing and harassing communications.
Previously, Kirkpatrick was arrested in Tuscaloosa last year on multiple charges, including reckless endangerment. He had been suspended for the remainder of the 2025 season but returned to the team in the spring. Over the past three years, he participated in 28 games and recorded 17 tackles.
