Albon Downplays Expectations for Williams' Upcoming Upgrades
Alex Albon has expressed doubts regarding the potential impact of the upgrades planned by Williams for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. He noted that the team is currently struggling, sitting ninth in the standings, and could fall further behind if Aston Martin's upgrades succeed.
Albon highlighted that while weight issues have been identified as a contributing factor to the team's performance problems, there are more complex challenges at play. He acknowledged the significant efforts being made by the team to address these longstanding issues, but he remains uncertain that the upcoming upgrades will provide a quick fix.
He emphasized that much of the current focus is on ensuring that next year's car does not inherit the same problems, expressing frustration over the limitations he faces while driving the current vehicle. Albon described the difficulties in maintaining consistency during races due to varying track conditions and wind, which hinder his ability to perform optimally.
