Alec Pierce Could Return to Colts Practice This Week
Colts receiver Alec Pierce is expected to return to practice later this week, as reported by head coach Shane Steichen on Tuesday morning.
Pierce has been recovering from offseason ankle surgery and will not participate in practice on Tuesday. Steichen indicated that there have been no discussions about placing Pierce on the physically unable to perform list, suggesting the team anticipates his return early in the season.
Pierce, who signed a four-year, $114 million contract with the Colts in March, had a standout season last year, recording 47 receptions for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games.
In addition, Steichen confirmed that cornerback Charvarius Ward will also return to practice on Tuesday after dealing with a back issue.
