Alec Pierce Receives Second PRP Injection for Ankle Recovery
Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has not participated in practice during 2026 as he continues to recover from ankle surgery.
Initially, Pierce had surgery on his left ankle in late March, which was described by the Colts as a clean-up procedure. He had hoped to avoid surgery by opting for a platelet-rich plasma injection after the 2025 season, but ultimately required the operation with a recovery timeline of 4-6 months, casting doubt on his availability for the start of the season.
According to Nathan Brown from the Indianapolis Star, Pierce has now received a second PRP injection to address ongoing soreness and expedite his healing process. This latest injection was not attributed to any setback in his rehabilitation. However, the team has not provided a specific timeline for his return, and he remains on the active/physically unable to perform list.
