Alex Albon Responds to Fernando Alonso's Criticism
Alex Albon has responded to criticism from Fernando Alonso regarding a collision during the Austin Grand Prix, where Alonso expressed frustration over the quality of drivers in the lower third of the Formula 1 grid. Alonso's comments followed a first-lap incident that caused damage to his car, impacting his performance.
Despite Alonso's claims about the lack of quality among lower-tier drivers, Albon defended the current grid, stating that it is stronger than in previous years and that there are no longer pay drivers. He acknowledged his respect for Alonso but disagreed with his assessment of the competition level.
Other drivers, including Pierre Gasly and Sergio Perez, supported Albon's view, emphasizing that the skill level among all drivers is high, regardless of their team's performance. They noted that the challenges in Formula 1 often stem from the car's capabilities rather than the drivers' abilities.
