Alex Grumer Transitions from Student Manager to Staff at Penn State Basketball
Alex Grumer, a 22-year-old, has quickly advanced within the Penn State men's basketball program, transitioning from a student manager to the assistant director of men's basketball operations.
Initially joining the team as a student manager during his sophomore year, Grumer's dedication led to a full-time position created by head coach Mike Rhoades after his graduation in May with a degree in Agribusiness Management.
In his new role, Grumer is responsible for managing player logistics, including class schedules and academic responsibilities, while adapting to a more professional relationship with the players he once considered friends. His experiences have provided him with insights into the meticulous nature of college basketball operations, and he aims to help the team reach the NCAA Tournament.
