Àlex Palou Wins 2026 INDYCAR Championship at Milwaukee Doubleheader

Àlex Palou has clinched the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship, securing the Astor Challenge Cup during the final race of a doubleheader at the Milwaukee Mile.

Palou had the chance to win the title earlier in the day but faced challenges due to rain that led to both races being held on Sunday. In the first race, Pato O’Ward from Arrow McLaren won, while Palou finished fifth after starting from pole position, which extended the championship contest into the evening's second race.

This championship marks Palou's fifth title in the INDYCAR SERIES, adding to his previous wins in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025. His successful season included six victories across various types of tracks, beginning with a win at St. Petersburg and followed by a sweep at Barber Motorsports Park.
