Alexander McPherson Discusses Offseason Gains Ahead of Penn State Season
Penn State sophomore defensive end Alexander McPherson has outlined his offseason improvements as he prepares for the upcoming season. After transferring from Colorado, where he played in 10 games and recorded 16 tackles, McPherson has focused on enhancing his performance in Happy Valley.
Over the offseason, McPherson gained 20 pounds, increasing his weight from 240 to 254 pounds, while maintaining his speed and agility. He credits the Penn State athletic staff and nutritionists for supporting his physical transformation. McPherson emphasized the importance of keeping agility as an edge rusher, stating that he feels stronger without needing to gain more weight.
As the Nittany Lions gear up for their opener against Marshall, McPherson is eager to showcase his progress and contribute to the team's success. He noted that the coaching staff plans to rotate players on the defensive line, and he is focused on fulfilling his role to help the team win.
