Volkanovski, who is considering a move to the lightweight division, revealed his interest in facing Topuria again, having been previously knocked out by him in 2024. He mentioned that a rematch would be appealing, especially if it were for a lightweight title, as Topuria lost his title to Justin Gaethje earlier this year.

While Volkanovski's coach has suggested other opponents, the champion remains open to the idea of fighting Topuria again. However, Topuria may need to secure a win before challenging for the title again, with Paddy Pimblett being a likely opponent for him.
