Aline Pereira Fails to Secure UFC Contract After Loss
Aline Pereira, the sister of former UFC champion Alex Pereira, was unable to secure a UFC contract following her defeat on Dana White's Contender Series. The fight took place against Sweden's Smilla Sundell, who won by unanimous decision.
Pereira, 36, has a professional MMA record of three wins and three losses since her debut in 2022. She previously fought on the undercard of a Netflix event featuring Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano but was unable to overcome Sundell's aggressive fighting style.
After the match, UFC president Dana White expressed uncertainty about offering Sundell a contract due to her lack of experience, although he was eventually persuaded by his team. Meanwhile, Alex Pereira, who has achieved significant success in the UFC, was present in his sister's corner during the fight.
