Alleppey Ripples Secures Easy Win Over Trivandrum Royals in Kerala Cricket League
Alleppey Ripples claimed an eight-wicket victory over Trivandrum Royals in the Kerala Cricket League at the Sports Hub Greenfield Stadium. The match took place on Friday, with T.S. Vinil and Mohammed Azharuddeen leading the charge for Ripples.
Vinil's impressive bowling performance included a double wicket maiden over, which significantly weakened the Royals' batting lineup, leaving them at 126 for eight after their 20 overs. Azharuddeen's explosive innings of 68 runs off 29 balls, featuring eight fours and five sixes, helped Ripples chase down the target with 43 balls remaining. After Azharuddeen's dismissal, Sachin Baby and K.A. Arun finished the match, scoring 26 and 24 runs respectively.
The Royals initially showed promise, with Vishnu Vinod hitting a boundary off the first ball. However, Vinil's early wickets turned the game in Ripples' favor. Despite a brief recovery led by Sijomon Joseph, who scored 46 runs, the Royals struggled to build momentum.
