Alonso and Lawson to Start F1 Italian GP from Pitlane
Fernando Alonso and Liam Lawson are set to start the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix from the pitlane at Monza due to violations of parc ferme regulations by their respective teams.
Aston Martin replaced several components in Alonso's power unit, exceeding his annual allowance, while Red Bull modified Lawson's rear wing and suspension. Alonso's car faced issues during qualifying, preventing him from completing a final run, which led to the decision to start from the pitlane.
Alonso was initially slated to start in 18th position after qualifying 21st, while Lawson was already positioned to start from the back of the grid due to previous engine part changes. Both drivers acknowledged the challenges posed by the high-speed Monza track.
