Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity Wins Court Order to Reopen House

Alpha Phi Delta fraternity has received a preliminary injunction from Center County Judge Brian Marshall, allowing them to reopen their off-campus house following a lockout.

The fraternity had filed a lawsuit against Greek Housing Services and 329 Prospect Ave. Corp. after being locked out due to claims of unpaid dues and insufficient membership numbers. The court has mandated that the property owners must reopen the house by 5 p.m. on August 26.

As part of the injunction, Alpha Phi Delta is required to post a $100 bond and pay $6,000 for August rent due to missing housing contracts for the upcoming academic year. The fraternity's lawsuit includes allegations of breach of contract and emotional distress, with specific mention of a member with diabetes who was denied access to the house.
