Alun Wyn Jones to Join Ospreys Board Ahead of 2026-27 Season

Alun Wyn Jones, the former captain of the Wales rugby team, is expected to be appointed as a director for the Ospreys, with an official announcement anticipated next week.

The 40-year-old, who debuted with the Ospreys in 2005, has previously contributed to the club's success, including three titles and an Anglo-Welsh Cup victory. His return comes during a challenging period for the Ospreys as they navigate the Welsh Rugby Union's plans to reduce the number of professional men's teams to three.

As the Ospreys prepare for the 2026-27 season, they will play at a renovated St Helen's ground, following a redevelopment partnership with Swansea Council. Their first home match is scheduled against the Dragons in the United Rugby Championship on October 24. The club has also seen significant player movements, including the departure of captains Dewi Lake and Jac Morgan to Gloucester, while new signings include Wales back Tom Rogers and three Australian players.
