Alvin Kamara to Miss at Least a Month Due to MCL Sprain
Alvin Kamara, the running back for the New Orleans Saints, will be out for at least a month due to a sprained MCL he suffered during a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday.
This injury is expected to prevent Kamara from participating at the start of the regular season. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on the situation, noting that while the injury is serious, it is not the worst-case scenario.
Kamara, who is 31 years old, recently renegotiated his contract with the Saints for the 2026 season. He has been with the team since being drafted in the third round in 2017 and played 11 games in 2025, accumulating 471 rushing yards and one touchdown, along with 33 receptions for 186 yards. With Kamara out, Travis Etienne, who was signed in free agency, is expected to take on the primary running back role for the Saints in 2026.
