Amanda Lemos Successfully Makes Weight After Three Attempts for UFC Vegas 120
Amanda Lemos, a former UFC strawweight title challenger, needed three attempts to make weight for UFC Vegas 120. She faced Alexia Thainara in a bout scheduled for Saturday.
Lemos first weighed in at 117 pounds, then attempted again shortly after, coming in at 116.5 pounds, which was still over the non-title strawweight limit. After a final attempt within the two-hour weigh-in window, she successfully weighed 115.5 pounds, confirming her participation in the fight.
This weight challenge adds to Lemos's difficulties as she enters the match following consecutive losses, marking the first time in her career she has faced such a streak. In contrast, lightweight headliners Mateusz Gamrot and Quillan Salkilld both made weight without issues, along with veteran featherweight Darren Elkins, who is set to retire after his fight against Yadier del Valle. All 24 fighters on the UFC Vegas 120 card successfully made weight.
