Amber Cox Departs as Indiana Fever GM Amid Front Office Overhaul
Amber Cox has been removed from her position as general manager of the Indiana Fever as the team restructures its front office after a first-round playoff elimination. This decision follows the resignation of team president Kelly Krauskopf.
Cox was appointed to her role after the 2024 season, succeeding Lin Dunn. The Fever were ousted from the playoffs by the defending champion Aces, losing the series 2-1. Last season, the team reached the semifinals but also fell to the Aces, despite star guard Caitlin Clark's injury limiting her participation.
During the recent season, the Fever's offense, led by Clark and MVP contender Kelsey Mitchell, ranked first in the league, finishing with a record of 28-16. However, their defense was less effective, placing eighth among playoff teams. The upcoming offseason will bring free agency challenges, particularly concerning Mitchell, who is expected to be a sought-after free agent.
