AMC Greenlights New 'Point Break' Series
AMC has announced the greenlighting of a new television series based on the 1991 cult classic film Point Break. The series, which is set in the same universe as the original, will follow an FBI investigation into a new heist crew linked to the Ex-Presidents.
David Kalstein and Christopher C. Rogers will serve as co-showrunners for the eight-part series, which is currently in production. Unlike the 2015 film that attempted a modern remake, this adaptation aims to honor the original's legacy.
The original Point Break, featuring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, became a cult favorite over the years, and AMC's track record includes several successful series. The creators expressed their excitement about continuing the story and inspiring audiences with the new series.
