American Wave Machines and China Tourism Group Launch Joint Venture

American Wave Machines (AWM) has announced a partnership with China Tourism Group (CTG) to establish a joint venture named Eastern Swell Dynamics, focusing on developing wave pools in China.

The collaboration aims to enhance the presence of wave pools in the country, building on AWM's existing technology, including the PerfectSwell system, which generates waves using pneumatic power. This technology is already implemented in various locations worldwide, such as Waco Surf in the U.S. and Shizunami Surf Stadium in Japan. AWM has previously entered the Chinese market with the Riyue Bay Surf Resort in Wanning, Hainan Island.

AWM founder Bruce McFarland emphasized that this joint venture represents a significant step in the growth of PerfectSwell technology, combining AWM's surf expertise with CTG's regional development capabilities. CTG's CFO, Wei Li, noted that the success of the Riyue Bay Surf Resort illustrates the potential for high-performance surfing experiences in destination developments.
