Anderson Silva Sends Support to Tim Kennedy After Ambush Incident
Anderson Silva has reached out to Tim Kennedy following an ambush in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that left the former UFC fighter and Green Beret injured. Silva conveyed his wishes for a swift recovery to Kennedy, who was shot multiple times during the attack on September 17, while also honoring Justin Conaglen, a former New Zealand special forces soldier who was killed in the incident.
Tim Kennedy was part of a security team contracted by Vectus Global, a private security firm. During the ambush, he sustained injuries primarily to his leg and underwent an eight-hour evacuation process before receiving treatment in the United States. Reports indicate that the ambush resulted in multiple casualties, with around 20 individuals affected.
After being evacuated to Burundi and then South Africa for initial treatment, Kennedy is now recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C. His journey back to the U.S. was lengthy, but he is reportedly improving. Kennedy's dual career as a professional fighter and a Green Beret has made him a notable figure in both the MMA and military communities.
