Andoni Iraola Discusses Ronald Araujo's Role at Liverpool

Andoni Iraola has commented on Ronald Araujo's impact on Liverpool's defense, particularly in set-piece situations, while also recognizing some limitations in his offensive contributions.

Araujo, who joined Liverpool on loan from Barcelona, has filled the right-back position due to injuries and form issues among other players. He has started the last six Premier League matches, earning praise for his defensive skills and commitment.

Despite Araujo's effectiveness in bolstering the defense, Iraola pointed out that his offensive capabilities do not match those of traditional full-backs. While Liverpool has conceded only one goal in six league matches with Araujo in the lineup, Iraola cautioned that Araujo may not be the ideal long-term solution against teams that defend deeply. The team has improved defensively, particularly in set-piece situations, but Iraola emphasized the need for ongoing improvement in both defense and offense as the season progresses.
