Andrade El Idolo Set for CMLL's 93rd Aniversario Event

Andrade El Idolo, the current AEW National Champion, is scheduled to participate in CMLL's 93rd Aniversario event on September 18 at Arena Mexico. This appearance follows his return to the venue during the Grand Slam Mexico edition of AEW Dynamite on August 5, marking his first match there in almost three years.

In a video shared by CMLL, Andrade announced his match against Volador Jr., a competitor with whom he has a storied history. Andrade expressed excitement about returning to CMLL, recalling his time as La Sombra in the 2010s. He mentioned their past rivalry, highlighting a significant moment in 2013 when he forced Volador Jr. to unmask.

The last encounter between Andrade and Volador Jr. took place on December 29, 2023, where Volador Jr. emerged victorious. Following that match, Andrade made a brief return to AEW before rejoining WWE in January 2024.
