Andreas Leknessund Wins Stage Seven of Vuelta a Espana

Andreas Leknessund of Norway claimed his first Grand Tour stage win on stage seven of the Vuelta a Espana, which took place in Aragon, northeastern Spain. The stage was marked by the death of Norway's King Harald V, prompting both Leknessund and his teammate to wear black armbands in tribute.

During the 149.8-kilometre stage, Leknessund broke away from his fellow competitors after 137 kilometres, completing the final seven kilometres solo and finishing 34 seconds ahead of teammate Tobias Halland Johannessen. Wout van Aert secured third place, finishing 47 seconds behind Leknessund.

World champion Tadej Pogacar finished 19th but extended his lead in the general classification by 16 seconds. Meanwhile, Britain's Oscar Onley moved up to sixth in the general classification and maintained a strong lead in the young rider's classification.
