Andrew Painter Exits Game Early Due to Hamstring Tightness

Andrew Painter, a rookie pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, exited Wednesday night's game after four innings due to tightness in his left hamstring, as confirmed by the team.

During his outing against the Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park, Painter threw 63 pitches and allowed only one run despite facing some early challenges. Following his departure, left-hander Tim Mayza took over pitching duties for the Phillies in the fifth inning. The team indicated that Painter would undergo further evaluation.

This game marked Painter's second start since returning to the major leagues last week after a stint in Triple-A Lehigh Valley aimed at improving his performance. With the Phillies not acquiring a starting pitcher at the recent trade deadline, Painter was expected to remain in the rotation. Should he need to be sidelined, the team has minor league options Brian Keller and Alan Rangel available, both of whom have experience in the majors this season.
