Andrus Peat Announces Retirement After 11 NFL Seasons

Andrus Peat, a former first-round guard for the New Orleans Saints, has declared his retirement from the NFL after an 11-year career. He made the announcement via his Instagram account.

Peat, a three-time Pro Bowler, faced numerous injuries throughout his time in the league but managed to start for nine seasons. He was a highly regarded offensive line recruit in 2012, eventually committing to Stanford before being selected 13th overall by the Saints in 2015.

Throughout his career, Peat played in 132 out of 181 possible games, starting 106 of them. He had a notable Pro Bowl streak, participating in 13, 10, and 13 games over three consecutive seasons, but his appearances dwindled due to injuries. Peat concluded his career with brief stints at the Raiders and Steelers, where he continued to show resilience despite injury setbacks.
