Andy Williams, Former AEW Star, Passes Away at 48

Andy Williams, recognized in the wrestling world as 'The Butcher,' died on Saturday night at the age of 48 after collapsing during a match in Millvale, Pennsylvania. His passing has deeply affected both the pro wrestling and metalcore music communities.

Kurt Hackimer, co-owner of Enjoy Wrestling, reported that Williams collapsed at ringside and struck his head on the floor. Despite being conscious initially, his condition deteriorated rapidly. Emergency medical personnel were called, and CPR was administered until an ambulance arrived. He was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after midnight. The cause of death is pending an autopsy, although medics suggested the symptoms were indicative of a cardiac event.

Williams was competing in a match for the Enjoy Wrestling Tag Team Titles alongside his partner Jesse Guilmette against TME. This event marked a significant occasion as it was part of the promotion's five-year anniversary and one of its final shows before closing on October 4. Tributes have poured in from former colleagues, including Cody Rhodes, who expressed condolences following Williams' death.
