Angel Reese set a new WNBA record by securing 26 rebounds in a game, leading the Atlanta Dream to a 78-71 victory against the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday.
During the match, Reese surpassed the previous single-season rebound record, finishing the season with 458 rebounds. She also contributed 11 points, marking her 27th double-double of the season. The Dream's win marked their second victory over the Sparks in just five days.
Allisha Gray scored 20 points, while Rhyne Howard and Naz Hillmon added 18 and 12 points, respectively, as Atlanta improved to 25-13, moving closer to third place in the league standings. The Sparks, now eliminated from playoff contention, saw Nneka Ogwumike score a season-high 27 points but suffered their seventh loss in eight games.
