Angels Sign Michael Fulmer and Hagen Danner to Minor League Contracts

The Los Angeles Angels have signed right-handed pitchers Michael Fulmer and Hagen Danner to minor league contracts, as announced by the team. Fulmer is set to report to Triple-A Salt Lake, while Danner will initially join the Arizona complex.

Fulmer, a former Rookie of the Year, was recently released by the San Francisco Giants after a solid season in which he posted a sub-3.00 ERA and struck out 29% of batters over 42 1/3 innings. Despite his performance, he did not receive a call-up to the majors. Last year, he made five appearances in the MLB with the Cubs and Red Sox after missing the 2024 season due to elbow surgery.

Danner, 27, has made one big league appearance with the Blue Jays and has spent the last three years in Triple-A. He was previously with the Reds' affiliate earlier this season. Danner has transitioned from being a catcher to a pitcher, showcasing a mid-90s fastball but struggling with walks. The Angels plan to build him up at the complex before likely assigning him to Salt Lake.
