Angharad Evans Secures 200m Breaststroke Silver at European Championships
Angharad Evans claimed the silver medal in the 200m breaststroke at the European Aquatics Championships, complementing her gold medal from the 100m event earlier in the competition.
The 23-year-old swimmer finished in second place behind Evgeniia Chikunova of Russia, who holds the world record, while Ireland's Mona McSharry secured third place.
Evans aimed to replicate her success from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she achieved a double victory, but settled for silver this time, similar to her performance in last year's European short-course final in Lublin. Additionally, her teammate Keanna Macinnes placed fifth in the women's 100m butterfly final, which was won by Roos Vanotterdijk of Belgium.
