Anna Nordqvist Announces Retirement from Professional Golf

Anna Nordqvist, a three-time major champion, revealed on Wednesday that she will retire from professional golf following this week's FM Championship near Boston.

The 39-year-old golfer is set to serve as Europe's captain at the upcoming Solheim Cup in the Netherlands. Nordqvist has an impressive record of 17 wins, 15 losses, and 3 ties in the biennial event since her debut in 2009, the same year she won her first major title at the McDonald's LPGA Championship.

Throughout her career, Nordqvist has earned $14.1 million, securing nine victories on the LPGA Tour and five on the Ladies European Tour. She is currently ranked 118th in the world, with her best finish this year being a tie for seventh at the Evian Championship. Nordqvist expressed gratitude for her journey in golf and emphasized her decision to retire to focus on her health and family.
