
Anthony Andrews Takes Role as Assistant Coach for India U17 Women's Team
The All India Football Federation has appointed Anthony Andrews as the assistant coach for the India Under-17 women's national team, with Joakim Alexandersson remaining as head coach. Andrews will also continue his role as head coach of East Bengal FC.
Andrews has joined the U17 women's team in Tashkent, where they are preparing for two international friendly matches against Uzbekistan. These matches are part of the team's preparation for the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Malaysia from October 5 to 11, where India will compete in Group E.
Andrews is recognized as the most successful coach in the Indian Women's League history, having won four titles. He has previously led Gokulam Kerala FC and East Bengal FC to consecutive championships and has been instrumental in developing players for national representation.
