Anthony Bowens Reflects on Joining AEW and Forming The Acclaimed

Anthony Bowens, a professional wrestler, recalls his transition from the independent circuit to signing with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2020. His decision was influenced by AEW's focus on younger talent and its alternative style compared to WWE.

Bowens had a tryout with AEW in September 2020 and signed a contract the following month. He made his debut on the October 6, 2020 episode of AEW Dark and soon teamed up with Max Caster to form The Acclaimed, achieving their first victory shortly after.

Initially, Bowens had agreed to join WWE but opted for AEW after discussions with CEO Tony Khan. Over time, Bowens and Caster developed a strong partnership, becoming successful in AEW with multiple championship reigns. Currently, both wrestlers are free agents, with Caster taking a break from in-ring action for therapy.
