Anthony Gordon Confident in Striker Role for Barcelona

Anthony Gordon has expressed his confidence in thriving as a striker for Barcelona following a strong debut performance. The England international came off the bench during the team's LaLiga opener against Elche, contributing two assists in a 5-0 victory.

Gordon, who joined Barcelona from Newcastle United for approximately 70 million euros, was substituted in during the 65th minute. He quickly made an impact, assisting Raphinha for the third goal just two minutes after entering the match, and then setting up Fermin Lopez shortly thereafter.

Barcelona's efforts to enhance their attacking options this summer included the addition of Gordon, along with Karim Adeyemi and Jesse Bisiwu. Despite their interest in acquiring another center-forward, Gordon's versatility as a player who can operate centrally may prove beneficial for the team's strategy moving forward.
