Anthony Richardson to Start for Colts in Preseason Finale
The Indianapolis Colts have announced their quarterback strategy for the upcoming preseason finale against the Detroit Lions. Anthony Richardson is set to start the game, with head coach Shane Steichen indicating that he will play for the first quarter.
Following Richardson, Riley Leonard will take over in the second quarter, while Easton Stick is expected to play the remainder of the game. This arrangement allows Richardson to share the field with several Colts starters, although running back Jonathan Taylor will not participate. Steichen noted that the starters are anticipated to play between 8 to 12 plays before being substituted.
While Steichen did not confirm that the order of play will reflect the regular season depth chart, Richardson's performance could potentially position him for the backup role behind Daniel Jones.
