Anthony Santander Records First Hit of Season in Rehab Game

Anthony Santander, a 31-year-old outfielder, recorded his first hit of the season on Friday while playing for the Buffalo Bisons in a rehab game against the Charlotte Knights.

In the game, Santander hit a 106 m.p.h. line-drive single, contributing to the Bisons' 2-1 loss. This marked his second rehab game, having previously gone 0-for-4 as the designated hitter. During this game, he played left field for the first time in his rehab assignment, making one catch and being replaced in the seventh inning.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider confirmed that Santander will continue his rehabilitation at triple-A until the middle of next week. Santander had undergone left shoulder surgery in February and has not played for the Blue Jays in 2026, having also missed most of the previous season due to a similar injury.
