Anuj Dal, a 30-year-old all-rounder from Derbyshire, has retired from professional cricket to pursue a career in financial services. He will join Nottingham-based Ryley Wealth Management, where he previously worked part-time.
Dal made his debut in 2018 and played a total of 76 first-class matches, scoring 3,773 runs and taking 128 wickets. His performance in 2022, which included 34 wickets and 957 runs, earned him the title of Derbyshire's County Championship player of the year.
In addition to his playing career, Dal has served as the vice chair of the Professional Cricketers' Association since 2021. He expressed disappointment over the inability to reach a new contract with Derbyshire but is looking forward to his new career path.
