Archie Goodburn to Present Match Ball at Scotland vs. Australia
Archie Goodburn, a champion swimmer and advocate for brain cancer research, is set to deliver the match ball for Scotland's Nations Championship match against Australia on November 15 at Murrayfield Stadium.
The 25-year-old from Edinburgh, who holds the Scottish record in the 50m breaststroke, has actively campaigned for improved treatment and research, recently engaging with Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Scotland's First Minister, John Swinney.
Goodburn, who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor in 2024, expressed his excitement about the opportunity to perform in front of over 60,000 spectators, a significant moment compared to his previous performance at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Attendees at the match will have the chance to support two charities focused on brain cancer, as Goodburn emphasizes the importance of raising awareness and funding for this critical issue.
