Arne Slot Confirms Talks for Netherlands Managerial Position

Arne Slot, who previously managed Liverpool, has acknowledged that he engaged in discussions about the vacant Netherlands coaching position but ultimately decided to withdraw, preferring to continue in club football.

Slot, 47, took over Liverpool in May 2024 and led the team to a league title in his first season, but was dismissed after finishing fifth in the Premier League. Following the Netherlands' exit from the World Cup, Ronald Koeman stepped down as manager.

Slot clarified that he did not withdraw from negotiations due to contract disputes, stating that the talks never progressed to that stage. He expressed a desire to remain involved in daily training with players, indicating that the national team role was not suitable for him at this time. He also mentioned that he would consider the national team position in the future if the opportunity arises.
