Arsenal Engages in Transfer Talks for Jarell Quansah with Bayer Leverkusen
Arsenal has initiated talks with Bayer Leverkusen regarding the potential signing of England defender Jarell Quansah. The discussions come as Leverkusen is reportedly reluctant to part with the player, expecting a fee significantly higher than the £35 million they paid Liverpool for him in July 2025.
Quansah, who is 23 years old, played three matches for England during the 2026 World Cup, although he missed two games due to a suspension. His versatility makes him an appealing option for Arsenal, particularly as they may deploy him at right-back due to injuries affecting other players.
Quansah previously impressed during Arsenal's Champions League match against Leverkusen, where he played every minute of the tie. He has a buy-back clause with Liverpool, who he left after a long tenure at the club. Last season, he was recognized for his passing accuracy in the Bundesliga, although he faced scrutiny for receiving multiple bookings.
