Arsenal Finalizes £75m Deal for Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle
Arsenal has successfully negotiated a £75m transfer fee with Newcastle United for midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who currently serves as the captain of the team. Guimaraes, who has two years left on his contract at St James' Park, has received permission to travel for a medical examination.
The Brazilian midfielder expressed his desire to join Arsenal earlier this summer, contingent upon a suitable offer. Although Arsenal's initial bid was turned down, the deal is now poised to go through, marking a significant move for both clubs.
Guimaraes joined Newcastle in 2022 from Lyon for £40m and has since made 195 appearances, scoring 31 goals. If the transfer is completed, Newcastle will have generated over £240m from player sales this summer, following the departures of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.
