Arsenal Finalizes £75m Transfer for Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle
Arsenal has successfully negotiated a £75 million transfer fee with Newcastle for midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who currently serves as the captain of the team. The Brazilian player has received permission to travel for a medical examination.
Guimaraes expressed his desire to join Arsenal earlier this summer, contingent on a suitable offer. Although Arsenal's initial bid was turned down, the 28-year-old is now poised to become part of the Premier League champions. He joined Newcastle in 2022 from Lyon for £40 million and has since made 195 appearances, scoring 31 goals.
Newcastle had been reluctant to part with Guimaraes, who has two years remaining on his contract, but his insistence on leaving has led to this agreement. If the transfer proceeds, Newcastle will have generated over £240 million from player sales this summer, following the departures of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.
