Arsenal Reduces Workforce by 60 Jobs to Enhance Success, Says Mikel Arteta
Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has stated that the club's recent decision to eliminate 60 jobs is intended to foster the success they aspire to achieve. This announcement was made by chief executive Richard Garlick, who informed staff about the workforce reduction affecting various departments.
The job cuts represent approximately seven percent of Arsenal's 871 permanent staff, but will not impact the coaching or performance teams for both the men's and women's squads. Positions within the Arsenal Foundation, Arsenal in the Community, and security staff will also remain unaffected.
This decision follows a review conducted by an external firm prior to Arsenal's Premier League victory. Arteta, who recently signed a new four-year contract, acknowledged the rationale behind the cuts, emphasizing the need for strategic roles to enhance the club's future success. Despite the club's record revenues of £691 million for the 2024-25 financial year, they reported an overall loss of £1.4 million.
