Arsenal Signs Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa
Arsenal has signed Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa, strengthening their defense on the day they commence their Premier League title defense.
The transfer, reported to cost £51 million with an additional £4 million in potential add-ons, sees Konsa join the Gunners on a four-year contract, with an option for a fifth. However, he will not participate in the opening match against Coventry due to fitness concerns surrounding teammate William Saliba.
Konsa, who previously made 286 appearances for Villa since joining from Brentford in 2019, is expected to compete for a starting position alongside Gabriel in the Arsenal defense. This move follows Arsenal's recent signings, including Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis, as they aim to enhance their squad.
