Arunachal Pradesh Forfeits Ranji Trophy Opener Against Nagaland
Arunachal Pradesh has forfeited its first match in the Ranji Trophy Plate Group against Nagaland, which was set to begin on Sunday in Ahmedabad. This decision arises from a crisis within the state cricket association, where two factions are contesting control amid a pending court case.
The administrative turmoil has also impacted the state's age-group cricket, as Arunachal Pradesh was unable to field its Under-19 team for a match against Sikkim. The association's leadership is currently in dispute following elections held in September, which have been challenged in the Gauhati High Court.
The court has issued a stay order, preventing the Board of Control for Cricket in India from intervening to establish an independent selection panel. This ongoing situation leaves Arunachal Pradesh's ability to manage team selections and participate in domestic competitions uncertain.
